For over 60 years and three generations, Paul's has provided SLO with the best dry cleaning and laundry service in town. The new Paul's website is a retro throwback for this classic Central Coast standby that is worthy of their work.

The Challenge

For three generations and over 60 years, Paul’s has been a San Luis Obispo staple. Besides providing decades of first-class dry cleaning and laundry services, they’ve occupied the same retro digs—a seriously eye-catching throwback brick-&-mortar on Higuera Street on the edge of downtown SLO. If you’ve ever been through town, you’ve almost certainly seen the building, and if you’ve lived anywhere in the area for any amount of time, you’ve probably patronized their business.

Unfortunately, for all that Paul’s has had in terms of local visibility, it has lacked in digital visibility. After years of sub-par service and failed web solutions by a bunch of different local marketing outfits, they were left with a bunch of websites that didn’t work, didn’t rank, and couldn’t help customers.

The Solution

The most prominent feature of the new Paul’s website is the retro look. It seeks to replicate their building’s classic 50s colors and aesthetic, most notably with the Paul’s Dry Cleaners logo emblazoned across the website header just as it is across their building.

Less noticeable is the fact that the new website works. Contrary to the old site (which was so poorly developed that it didn’t show up even in explicit searches for Paul’s), the new site boasts strong SEO and top-of-first-page ranking. Furthermore, the website is lightning fast, immaculately built, and the content has been intelligently crafted to inform, engage, and convert.
